Changing a Local User Password in macOS / OS X
To change a local user password,
- Click the Apple logo on the upper left corner. Then click
- Click System Preferences.
- Click Users & Groups in the System Preferences.
- Select the user account for which you want wish to add or change the password for.
- Click on the lock to make changes, then click .
- Click Change Password.
- Click Change Password once all of the relevant fields are completed.
