macOS / OS X

  1. Browse to find the file or folder you wish to compress
  2. Hold down the Control key on the keyboard and click on the file or folder item
  3. Select Compress “name of file or folder” (on Mavericks, Yosemite) or Create Archive (on Mountain Lion, Lion, Snow LeopardmacOS / OS X version 10.9 or later).
  4. This will create a .zip file with the name of the file or folder that was compressed.
  5. Double-click on the .zip file to decompress it.
